Measuring
  • With a tape or wheel, measure the length and width of areas to be sodded.
  • Break odd shaped or varied shaped areas into smaller sections and measure each section to determine its area.
  • For triangles, add the 2 width measurements, divide by two, and multiple by the vertical. In the example shown here, 3 + 6 = 9/2 = 4.5 * 10 = 45 sq. ft.
  • Round up each measurement (e.g., 6,780 sq. ft. becomes 6,800 sq. ft.)
  • Add the rounded measurements to determine total square footage.
